How it Started
For more than 40 years, Jean Marc Pasquet has travelled the world searching for the finest & the most unique raw materials.
In the early 80s Jean Marc developed the craftsmanship of Galuchat (in english shagreen) in the tropical island of Cebu, Philippines where artisans were known for their remarkable shell-inlay skill. He produced exceptional pieces for VIPs including an extensive collection for the King Hassan II of Morocco.
In 2006, Jean Marc opened La Galuche Inc., a new atelier in the heart of the Cebu Export Zone on the island of Mactan.
Today, the family run atelier only employs very skilled artisans, some with over three decades of experience.
La Galuche focuses on offering custom-made high-quality accessories and furniture with exceptional materials.

Dean Pasquet | General Manager and Director of Export Sales | Cebu Atelier
Dean is a travel, music and adrenaline enthusiast. Growing up in a family of designer and artists, Dean and and his sister Laelany spend most of their childhood in their grandmother Art store. He studied Management in France and Fine Arts in the Philippines and worked under his father’s wings for a decade as La Galuche’s production manager.
Today he runs the atelier with his team and is always in search of the most innovative materials. Dean manages the export accounts for La Galuche and developped several collections with clients over the years.
In 2019, Dean created his own design studio (www. deantaylorstudio.com) and is in charge of all the new product developments for the La Galuche atelier. The studio also caters to private clients in order to create exclusive and one of a kind bespoke pieces for them.
Dean has been working with La Galuche since 2009.
Laelany Pasquet | Sales (Europe) | Faro, Portugal
After studying around the world and working for La Galuche for over decade in Cebu. Lani now caters to La Galuche’s customers in Europe. She is passionate about interiors and design. In 2023 she opened her first store located in Faro, Portugal that features curated furniture pieces and accessories from all over the world and is able to take custom orders on the La Galuche collection.
Stephanie Sharpe | Marketing & Local Sales | Cebu Atelier
Growing up in the tropical island of Cebu, Stephanie is a fervent admirer of nature’s bounty and has appreciated hand crafts since a very young age. She has worked in Canada and the Philippines in the Handicraft and Home Decor world. She is meticulous and has the eye for details. She has been working with La Galuche since 2017.
Cecilia Cabonilas | Office Manager | Cebu Atelier
Cecilia has been working with La Galuche since 2006. She administers the daily office life with grace and care. Her deep knowledge of export processes ensure a swift delivery to our worldwide clients.
