PARCHMENT

Parchment, the skin of the goat or sheep was first introduced as paper in the 4th century in the production of books. Vellum was also a popular material amongst the Art Deco designers especially Jean Michel Frank who used it profusely. Frank not only used the material on furniture but also on wall panels.

La Galuche uses air-dried parchment skins that are carefully selected and processed in house.  The parchment can be dyed in any color can be varnished in either mat or high gloss. We use a very high end UV Polyurethane finish for all our parchment finishes.
